Qualifies for World Championship

VEX robots

The California VRC MS State Championship is state level event participated by top qualifying teams from regional competitions. Rolling Robots had 4 teams represented, 7700R at the High School Level, 7700A and 7700B at the Middle School Level and 7700J the Vex IQ team at the Elementary School Level. Each team had won a major award at a regional competition to qualify to participate at the state level.

7700R finished at 16th out of 73 High School teams. 7700A made it to the quarterfinals and finished 8th out of 27 Middle School Teams.

7700J finished 11th out of 20 Elementary and Middle School teams in the VEX IQ Add It Up Challenge.

Team members worked together behind the scenes to improve the robot and fix any damage between rounds.

The Middle School teams 7700A and 7700B have worked together in several tournaments and were an alliance in the first qualifying round at the state tournament.

7700A finished in a position to choose their alliance partners. They chose their own family 7700B and the 4073A Vex Jets team.

Team 7700B received the “Design Award” for the best engineering, presentation and project management. This qualified them for the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) World Championship Middle School Division at Anaheim, CA on April 23 - 26, 2014.

Team 7700B has been studying robot building and programming in after-school and home-school programs offered at Rolling Robots. The award is truly a reflection of the team’s hard work on following the best practice of engineering design.

The California VRC MS State Championship is state level event participated by top qualifying teams from regional competitions. VEX Robotics World Championship will have 150 top middle school robotics teams from around the world to celebrate their accomplishments and compete with and against the worlds’ best teams.
