As you may already know, the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (REC) currently has an initiative underway to actively increase the number of girls/women participating in robotics competition. Together we are Redefining the Face of STEM.

In support of this initiative this we are introducing two new changes to help young women get started in the world of VEX competition:

1. Starting now, all new girl applicants to our competition team can get $50 off their first three months of Ultimate Competition Team Membership by using coupon code GIRLPOWERED at checkout.
2. Also, starting this spring we are proud to announce a new Rolling Robots 7700X All-Girls Robotics Team. The vision here is to form one large all-girls team from new and existing members at all three of our locations (Palos Verdes, Glendale, and West LA). This team will work together on several events planned specifically for female-focused VEX teams until the end of Spring. After all the planned events end in May, the girls can continue to participate in VEX competition on one of our mixed teams, but they will always be a part of the the special 7700X Girls VEX team and are welcome/encouraged to participate any special events relating to it that will inevitably arise.

And it is not just for new girls that join our team. If you are already a Rolling Robots team member you will get volunteer hours for mentoring the new girls as part of our STEM Ambassador program. Organizational meeting and special outreach events will count towards your volunteer hours.

Here are some of the events planned for this spring:

• Team Kickoff on February 22nd, 2018
• Attend the California State Championship February 23rd - 25th, and support the Rolling Robots teams.
• Compete in the 4th Annual All Girls VRC Showcase at La Reina High School March 24, 2018.
• Compete in the Rolling Robots Girl Powered Design Challenge May 12, 2018 at Rolling Robots.
• All team members will assist in designing the Rolling Robots Girl Powered T-Shirt

New (unregistered) members can sign up below. Make sure you sign up prior to February 22nd, as that's when the first event is planned.

Existing team members sign up here. Even if you aren't interested in joining 7700X, you are welcome to become mentors for the new team and will receive Volunteer hours for your efforts.
